Week 12 Elton John

I'm so behind in my posts, where does the time go? This week I've picked Elton John. He has so many great songs that tell great stories & messages. My favourite is Your Song, I especially love this version with Ronan Keating. What's your favourite?

Week 11 Tim McGraw

Since Tim is hitting Vancouver this week I thought I would pick him for my blog.
Jack & I both enjoy his music and this will be our second time going to see him, can't wait!!
I have many songs that I like by him including It's your love which was our first dance at our wedding but my all time favourite Tim song is Telluride. You can hear it playing in my playlist on the right.

Week 10 U2

Although I'm not a huge fan of U2 they are definately talented and are one of those bands that just continues to succeed decade after decade. One of my favourite songs by them is All I Want is You, from the Reality Bites soundtrack. It's old school but I love it!

Week 9 Sarah McLachlan

I'm a little behind this week so I'll make this quick. I chose Sarah McLachlan this week and my favourite song by her is I Will Remember You. What's your's?

Week 8 Metallica

Last week was kind of a bust...either no one likes the Stones or everyone was too wrapped up in Olympic spirit. So this week I thought I'd go a little heavier with Metallica. Again it's hard to choose only one as there's so many good ones but I think my favourite is "Hero of the Day" with a close second going to "One".
One of my favourite versions of Hero of the day is live with the San Fran orchestra.

Week 7 The Rolling Stones

I can't say I'm a huge fan of The Stones but they've been around for so long with so many songs it's hard not to have some favourites. I have a couple the first is Ruby Tuesday and the second is Angie. Whenever I hear that song it puts tears in my eyes and takes me back to a high school friend who lost her life too young. RIP dear Angie.

Week 6 Bryan Adams

I thought since the Olympics have arrived here in Vancouver and everyone is all about cheering on Canada, I would pick a Canadian this week. One of my favourite Canadian artists (esp. growing up) is Bryan Adams. He's had so many great hits over the years but there's nothing like rocking out to Summer of '69. Whenever it comes on the radio I always crank up the volume.

Week 5 The Eagles

Today (Saturday) is my hubby's birthday so I decided to pick one of his favourite's this week. I think it's one that many people can relate with and shouldn't have a problem finding a song that they enjoy. The Eagles are timeless and have been around for many years it's hard not to like them (but it's ok if you don't, lol).
My favourite is Tequila Sunrise, I find it very relaxing and mellow. I love it! Another one I love is The Sad Cafe....looking forward to hearing what your favourites are.

Week 4 Garth Brooks

This week we're going country! Now there's lots of Country artists to choose from but I thought I'd go with Garth first just because he was so popular during his prime and had so many hits. I find it hard to pick just one favourite when an artist has so many good songs but with Garth there is no doubt what mine is. Everytime I hear it, it gives me chills and I have to stop and listen...the song is The River. There's just something about this song that gets me everytime.

Week 3 Madonna

Now I know not everyone is a Madonna fan but she is truly a music icon and her music has influenced so many artists following in her footsteps. So I know there must be at least one song that has reached out to you in some way.

As for me I'm definately more of an old school Madonna fan, I have two favourites. The first is Crazy for You, it's your typical 80's love song and the second is Holiday, which is more fun and carefree, lol.

Week 2 Elvis Presley

This week I've decided to go with a legend, the king of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley. He has so many good songs to choose from and I know it may be hard to pick just one. However I expect to see some better answers than last week. Saying there all good doesn't help me people so get a little more creative this week, lol

I have a few songs that I love by Elvis but the one that always gets to me is Are you Lonesome Tonight? Such an amazing song.

Week 1 Bon Jovi

The first week is a no brainer, had to go with my favourite band Bon Jovi. My favourite song is Wanted Dead or Alive, what's yours?

So I've decided to try something different this year and hope that you will all play along.

Each week I'm going to pick an artist and tell you what my favourite song is by that artist. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what your favourite song is. Now I realize everyone has different taste in music so I'm going to try and reach all different genres. If it's an artist you don't particularly like that's ok just leave a short comment saying so, you don't have to sign up just pick anonymous and leave your name in the comment.

Since there are 52 weeks in a year there will be 52 artists, at the end of the year I'm going to make a compilation of the songs and scrapbook a layout(s) about all my friend's favourite songs.
